FREE PANEL: RACE & FILM @ Montclair Public Library
Sat, 5/4 12:00 PM. This is a free event!
What do the movies tell us about race in America? Three esteemed film critics – Pulitzer Prize-winner Wesley Morris (Grantland; Boston Globe), David Edelstein (New York magazine) and Scott Foundas (Variety) – discuss how they approach race when writing about film. As a bonus, this event will present a sample from the work-in progress documentary Oscar’s Comeback about the legacy of the pioneering black filmmaker Oscar Micheaux. Co-presented by the Blackhouse Foundation and the Montclair Public Library.
